Cable and WiMAX networks show many similarities, and can allow an operator to optimise his network planning; moreover and MSE can provide mobility in its network via mobile WiMAX schemes. Packet cable multimedia appears to be an appropriate framework to coordinate the 2 networks, and IMS inclusion can allow to handle mobility. The inclusion of video is introducing additional issues regarding QoS handling and monitoring, and the introduction of storage both in the access and home network.
