This paper discusses the Malaysian code of practice (COP) for electrical installations of buildings developed based on the source material as contained in "the guide to MSIEC 60364 on electrical installations of buildings". This new version consists of only 11 standards and it will state the requirement for electrical safety system which is closely linked to product standards and conformity assessment certification processes. Performance requirements for products must support the details of the installation code and vice-versa.
