This paper summarises the results of a cross code comparison between the Numerical Electromagnetic Code version 4 (NEC 4) and the transmission line matrix (TLM) method. The scenario modelled represents a 10-metre test monopole on a ground plane in the absence of scatterers, from which antenna radiation patterns, currents along the whip, complex impedance and VSWR are predicted by both numerical methods. A selection of further applications of TLM is also discussed.
