Polarisation mode dispersion of an installed 246 km field fiber (G.652) measured over a time span of 14 days allow to simulate system outage characteristics at 10 Gbit/s and 40 Gbit/s transmission. No outage (BER>10-12) was observed for 10 Gbit/s transmission.
