A statistical approach using a parametric spectral conversion of singular value decomposition-Prony (SVD-P) is introduced to provide a better resolution in channel characterization. The approach has been applied to analysing the transfer function of a transhorizon channel captured using a wideband channel sounder. The procedure is presented for the estimation of delay power spectrum, delay spread and coherence bandwidth of the experimental channel. (6 pages)
