TV station automation is an area in which computer technology is beginning to make a significant impact. This paper looks at TV station automation from the computer systems point of view and speculates on what might be the possible effects of likely advances in the computer systems domain. It concentrates on the TV station presentation operation although newsrooms and other such systems have very similar design/operational constraints.
