The objective of this work is to develop a management tool that is capable of modelling the dynamics of the design process in far greater detail than traditional project management methods. A specific design task, namely the structural design of an aircraft wing will be used to demonstrate the proposed system. The co-operation of BAe Airbus Ltd. will enable realistic data such as target design parameters, activity durations and precedence relationships to be used.
