Proposes a new approach to the problem of on-line change detection based on the system response at a selected set of frequencies. It is shown that frequency response relationships provides a useful starting point for residual generation. Making use of recursive estimation of nonparametric quantities, the method presupposes a minimum of a priori plant information.
