We fabricated and characterised a birefringent anti-resonant hollow-core fibre. The birefringence was achieved by introducing different thickness resonators. The group birefringence was found to be 4.1x10-5 at 1550 nm which relates to a 2.35x10-5 phase birefringence. The attenuation of the fibre was 0.46 dB/m at 1550 nm.
Inspec keywords: optical fibre fabrication; birefringence
Subjects: Optical fibre fabrication, cladding, splicing, joining; Fibre optics; Optical propagation, dispersion and attenuation in fibres
