This paper presents the design and realization of a planar multilayered electromagnetic absorber based on epoxy foam loaded gradually with millimetric carbon fibers. Two studies were conducted in the frequency range 0.75 to 12 GHz; the first was focused on the elaboration of a planar multilayer absorber composed of four layers where layers thicknesses were adjusted using the genetic algorithm to ameliorate the absorption performance, and the second study was intended for a five layer multilayer absorber using new compositions for further absorption amelioration.
