The tapped-inductor current converters topologies are introduced in this paper. Using tapping-inductor configuration, the current conversion has a wider range as compared with other topologies. The output of the converters can be changed either the tapping ratio of the tapped-inductor or the duty ratio of the switching devices. In this paper, the tapped-inductor current converters topologies of the Buck circuit is shown and analyzed. The paper also makes use of the tapped inductor to describe the common mistakes of students to handle power electronics of the current mode-tapped inductor. A few case studies for interesting writing and presentation mistakes are presented that is to elaborate proper method of technical learning and teaching. Finally, the detailed comparison result in loss analysis is shown using the simulation of the proposed circuit conducted in PSIM.
