A 2D hydrodynamic and time dependent model was applied to a 30 km selected portion in an ungauged semi-diurnal tidal river connected to the Bay of Bengal. A model setup was done for this data scarce reach based on mostly primary data using Delft3D model. Simulation was carried out for continuous 216 hours. Hydraulic characteristics were determined for the transient conditions i.e. water levels vary with time. The reported model showed reasonable outcome (i.e., R2= 0.84) compare to the observed data. The hydrodynamic simulation is the prime requirement for conducting further tidal simulation as well as salinity intrusions both in the estuary and studied river, those will be covered in the next phase of this study. Therefore, this study envisaged to provide guidance to the Decision Support System.
