In recent years, submarine cable transmission technology is playing an increasingly important role in the internationalization of power grids and interconnection of regional power grids. The protecting method of submarine cable is of great significance to the operation safety of submarine cables. This paper analyses the characteristics of cable laying methods under different geological conditions, gives a comparison of advantages & disadvantages and economy of different embedding types, proposes protection measures for crossing of existing submarine pipelines, determines that the laying method of submarine cable shall give comprehensive consideration into the seabed geological conditions, sea depth, maritime activities, construction technology and other factors, so as to achieve the purpose of providing better protection to submarine cable.
