In order to obtain the boundary points for scattered point cloud, this paper cuts the point cloud based on slicing method to get the slicing data and locates the boundary points using crisscross-shape algorithm presented in this paper in 2D space. Then the boundary points are mapped to the corresponding boundary points in 3D space and do 3D model visualization with Poisson construction algorithm. The experimental result shows that the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce redundant data while keeping the original features. The new method can increase the accuracy and speed of the subsequent three dimensional model construction.
