A thermal model for an induction generator in a renewable energy application is presented. The thermal resistances used in the model are found from steady state testing in an appropriate environment. The cooling in this application is inherently better than that normally experienced by this type of generator and thus a rating above nameplate can be achieved continuously. (6 pages)
