In this paper, we present some basic ideas to use EM software package to accurately simulate the EM problems. The basic procedure in the EM simulation includes excitation setting, mesh design, boundary setting and parallel processing design for a parallel code. In the paper, we introduce some simulation techniques using different software packages and use these software packages to simulate some typical examples.
