Dual-band microstrip antennas
Dual-band microstrip antennas are generally of two types. (1) Separate microstrip resonators coupled to a transmission line, and (2) Perturbed microstrip resonators, where their original resonant frequencies are shifted by geometrical alteration of a basic resonator. Dual -band microstrip antenna designs which allow for independent frequency selection have the most design utility. This Chapter discusses: rectangular microstrip dual-band antennas, multiple resonator dual-band antennas, dual-band microstrip antenna design using a diplexer, and multiband patch shaping using a genetic algorithm.
