You don't need to log in to explore the IET Digital Library, but if you want access to the full range of services – including setting up free email alerts, and saving and purchasing content – it is recommended.
If you are an IET member, or have already been registered with one of the IET's family of websites, you can simply use your existing IET username and password to access your personal account on the IET Digital Library.
Note that if you are an IET member, please use your existing IET username and password that is associated with your membership so that you will be able to enjoy member discounts and free access to some content.
Create a personal account
- Click 'Register' above the Login area. Please provide the details requested:
- Email address
- Country of residence
- Username must be unique
- Username should not contain any spaces or special characters
- Password must be a minimum of 8 characters
- Password must contain a combination of letters, numbers and special characters (e.g. @ ! # ?)
It's best to avoid passwords that are easy to guess such as "secret", "password" or "letmein". We also suggest that you avoid using your name or other personal information that is easy to obtain as your password, and avoid using the same password for accounts on different websites. If using a public or shared computer (such as in a library), we recommend that you logout after using the site.
Log in to personal account
You can log in by entering your registered username and password into the boxes on the right hand side of each page on the site. Check that you are typing your username and password correctly.
Password reset and username reminder
If you have forgotten your username or password, or are unsure whether or not you have previously registered on the website, please click 'Forgotten password' in the Login area.
A pop-up window will appear and you will be able to request a username reminder or password reset.
Tick 'Remember me' if you wish to be logged in automatically when you visit IET Digital Library in the future.
However, please note that you will be asked to provide your username and password during the session if you attempt to access any pages containing your personal information.
