A simple square rooter using two op-amps and a switch is described. It uses a saw tooth wave as reference clock and the square rooting principle is obtained by a time division technique. The circuit accepts an input dc voltages V I and produce an output voltage V O = √V I V T. V T is a constant voltage which is the peak value of the reference saw tooth wave. Verification of the feasibility of the circuit configuration is established by way of test results.
