This study presents a systematic block diagram for a peak current mode controlled flyback converter to investigate its dynamic properties at high switching frequencies. At low frequencies, the proposed block diagram approximates the converter current loop to a current source. To verify the proposed model, a flyback circuit was tested. The control-to-output transfer function obtained from derived small-signal model shows good agreement in frequency response between the derived result and the experimental one spanning from the DC to the approaching half-switching frequency.
