The authors investigate the dispersion-induced power penalty (DIPP) in millimetre-wave fibre optic links. It is shown that the modulation index of the local oscillator driving signal at the harmonic upconverting Mach-Zehnder electro-optic modulator affects the quality of the DIPP mitigation.
