Red light was generated by the sum frequency mixing of 1.55 µm emission of an Er/Yb doped fibre amplifier with the unabsorbed 1.064 µm pump light in a 2.3 cm long periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal. A maximum power of 0.45 W was generated at 630 nm.

Inspec keywords: optical frequency conversion; lithium compounds; optical phase matching

Other keywords: 630 nm; 0.45 W; quasi-phase matching; red light generation; Er/Yb fibre amplifier; sum frequency mixing; periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal; LiNbO3

Subjects: Optical harmonic generation, frequency conversion, parametric oscillation and amplification; Optical harmonic generation, frequency conversion, parametric oscillation and amplification
