The analysis of the electromagnetic properties of the circular-segment microstrip antenna with microstrip feed is presented. The theory employs an equivalent magnetic wall model, treating the antenna as a lossy flat cavity. A series expansion in resonant modes yields an approximation of input impedance, radiation characteristics and near field data of the antenna.
