Through-the-wall radar is widely used in civil and military applications. However, the echo from the target behind the wall is often buried in the wall reflections and other clutter waves. An effective subspace selection method based on singular value decomposition for wall clutter mitigation is presented. Furthermore, the Akaike information criterion method is employed for noise clutter mitigation. Experimental results with real data demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
