Design approach of a novel wideband slotline antenna is proposed. An offset-fed structure is applied to simultaneously excite the first three radiation modes within a slotline radiator, without introducing external less-radiative resonant modes. By controlling the excitation of its full-wavelength radiation mode, the proposed slotline antenna exhibits a frequency-spatial steerable notch-band characteristic in radiation gain within a wide-impedance bandwidth.
