access icon free Multi-objective wind-driven optimisation and magnet design

After a short review of the main optimisation methods used in electromagnetic design, the wind-driven optimisation algorithm is focused on. Its generalisation to the multi-objective case is proposed as the original contribution. The relevant algorithm is able to approximate the Pareto front of a design problem characterised by two or more objective functions which are in conflict. The optimal synthesis of current in a solenoid, trading off field residual minimisation and power loss minimisation, is considered as the case study.
