The proposed antenna, comprising a folded-strip radiator and a rectangle ground, has a compact size of only 10×37 mm2 and is capable of generating two resonances with good impedance matching conditions. Prototypes of the proposed antenna have been constructed and experimentally verified. Measured results, showing agreement with the numerical prediction, present not only good dual 10 dB impedance bandwidths of 270 MHz (2.25–2.52 GHz) and 840 MHz (5.02–5.86 GHz) simultaneously covering the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN operating bands, but also good radiation patterns and antenna gains. %@ 0013-5194 %T Compact strip-monopole antenna for WLAN-band USB dongle application %B Electronics Letters %D April 2011 %V 47 %N 8 %P 479-480 %I Institution of Engineering and Technology %U https://digital-library.theiet.org/;jsessionid=v7598pxas39k.x-iet-live-01content/journals/10.1049/el.2010.3234 %G EN
