Abstract

A simple low-power comparator which uses depletion mode GaAs-FETs is described. The circuit converts sine wave inputs as low as 1 mV peak to square signals. A simple modification converts the circuit to a monostable. The monostable is shown to correct the duty cycle of an impulse from 1.6 to 50%.
