Motivated by applications such as decentralised feedback control with communication constraints, presented is a coding scheme for continuous variables that bears a Gray-code-like property, but can be implemented with both encoding and decoding decentralised (which Gray code cannot). It is proved that the code constructed achieves the highest possible efficiency given the Gray-code-like requirement and the decentralised implementation constraint.
