The Internet, the so-called 'information superhighway,' is being used by an increasing number of people worldwide. As a result, the Internet has been growing exponentially with the number of machines connected to the network and the amount of network traffic roughly doubling each year. The Internet today is fundamentally changing our social, political, and economic structures, and in many ways obviating geographic boundaries.
