The key objective of project delivery reviews is to provide ongoing project health assessment, enabling problems to be detected early, before the project becomes troubled. Clear and crisp findings and recommendations are required. Reviewers must be experienced, senior people who are independent of, and respected by, the project team. Reports must be visible to senior management in the vendor organisation. A set of 'focus areas' has been presented which will enable us to detect the majority of the root causes of troubled projects during the system design and system development life cycle stages.
