Various inhomogeneities play an essential role as the elements of open waveguide resonators. Some of inhomogeneities are used intentionally for co-ordinating and filtering modes and frequencies, branching a part of energy etc. while some of them, like waveguide breaks and junctions, are caused by construction requirements. Mathematical and computer models here must provide the means to obtain data in real time which would enable one to bridge the gap between the technical task for a device and its realisation within the minimal period of time.
