In this chapter we will consider various scattering problems beginning with the plane monochromatic E°(ω), H°(ω) wave diffraction by the open structure formed by a finite number NS of infinitely thin, perfectly conducting, unclosed circular cylindrical surfaces containing inclusions in the form of Nε homogeneous isotropic circular dielectric pivots (NS+Nε - Nε), with the axis parallel to that of the resonator's mirrors (the permittivity and permeability of the medium, ε and μ, depend on spatial co-ordinates). The resonator itself is placed in a homogeneous medium with complex permittivity and permeability.

Inspec keywords: permittivity; monochromators; light scattering; permeability; light diffraction; mirrors; optical resonators; oscillations

Other keywords: unclosed circular cylindrical surfaces; oscillation excitation; scattering problems; complex permeability; complex permittivity; resonator mirrors; plane momochromatic wave diffraction; homogeneous isotropic circular dielectric pivots; open resonators; homogeneous medium; spatial co-ordinates

Subjects: Optical lenses and mirrors
