Adaptive control systems are used to overcome the problem of plant uncertainty due to, for instance, slowly varying time parameters [4]. One approach to adaptive control is gain scheduling, where an appropriate controller is chosen on the basis of scheduling variables that are continuously observed [2]. The complexity of a gain scheduling controller increases with the number of scheduling parameters. Dimensional analysis may reduce the problem complexity formulation by using a dimensionless representation that reduces the number of scheduling parameters, as shown in Reference 3.
